About the Division of Social Sciences

The Division of Social Sciences is for people seeking an academic community that values the unfettered possibilities resulting from diverse experiences, creative problem solving and a collaborative commitment to understanding our changing world.

Our people bring together methodological approaches ranging from quantitative to qualitative to consider diverse perspectives in novel ways, interpret data through multiple lenses and explore interpretations and solutions related to questions that matter to communities, both local and global.

We value quantitative and qualitative methods and applied experiences that connect intellectual passions with communities and workspaces for real-world impact.

We research, teach and practice skills for how to talk across divides, engaging different audiences and opening new possibilities for discourse and collaboration in the world beyond the university.

We are focused on the future of higher education by welcoming changing populations, expanding career possibilities and reimagining academia through a connective and problem-oriented lens.
