CU Employee Leadership & Management Certificate

The University of Colorado Department of Human Resources (HR) and the Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program (EMP) have partnered to offer a graduate Leadership and Management certificate for CU employees. We developed this certificate to help our current and future leaders develop and refine their leadership skills and learn new ways to measure and enhance organizational effectiveness. This certificate is 12 credit hours and the courses may be applied toward the Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Engineering Management.

Certificate Application Requirements

  • Only employees from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· and CU Systems can apply.
  • Permission of both their immediate supervisor and their hiring authority/appointing authority (if different than immediate supervisor).
  • Employees must have at least 'meeting expectation' performance ratings (Level 2 for classified employees or Levels 3 -5 for exempt professional employees).
  • Employees must be managing or otherwise involved in the strategic direction of their department or be identified as someone likely to assume a supervisory, managerial or leadership role.
  • Undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited university with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Employees must use their tuition reimbursement benefit, up to 9 credits per year, toward the Certificate.

Special Benefits Associated with the Exclusive Program

  • Selected employees are eligible to use work time to take all classes.
  • Participants will be eligible to have fees and books paid by their department.

Please fill out this Certificate Completion Form before you graduate.  A paper certificate is mailed approximately eight weeks after the end of the semester that you graduate. If you did not establish a separate diploma address when you applied to graduate, your certificate will be mailed to your home address.
