Student & Hourly Employees

Student听hourly and temporary employees听are paid hourly and on a biweekly basis.听For more information about how to enter your time, see Getting Paid

  1. Login to your听听employee portal. Under the 鈥淐U Resources鈥 tab, there will be a听鈥淢yLeave鈥 tile.
  2. Record your time-in and time-out each day worked in your MyLeave 鈥淐alendar鈥. Each daily entry should read exactly as follows:
    • Reporting to:听Job #X, Supervisor First and Last Name.
      • If you have more than one job at CU you will see numerous jobs and supervisors in this dropdown.
    • Earnings Code:听
      • For CU student hourly employees =听Student Hourly
      • For non-CU student hourly employees =听Regular Earnings.
    • 厂迟补迟耻蝉:听Mark as Worked
    • Description: Not necessary
    • Speedtype:听Do not听enter a speedtype in this final field.听This should听always听remain blank.
    • Save
  3. Submit your timesheet after each bi-weekly pay period听for electronic approval by your supervisor, see the 鈥淭imesheet鈥 tab in MyLeave. Verify that the total hours听are correct, click 鈥淚 agree with the above Certification and Overtime Eligibility Statements鈥 at the bottom, then click submit.

Direct Deposit Instructions

All time information must be entered听and听approved in the CU Payroll system by听noon听on Thursday following the Supervisor submission deadline. Dates are subject to change, refer to the听听for the most up-to-date information.听It is the employee and supervisor's听responsibility to meet these deadlines.

If timesheets are not submitted and approved on time, please contact Edward Martinez听as soon as possible.听Late timesheets require manual adjustments听and additional documentation both from the employee and his/her/their supervisor.

New sick leave eligibility!

On July 14, 2020, Colorado enacted the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA). Beginning Jan. 1, the act requires employers to provide paid sick leave to their employees听up to a maximum of 48 hours per year. Administrative Policy Statement听(APS) 5062听outlines or references all university employee leave-related policies.听

Student employees, temporary classified staff, university staff, and temporary researchers will听Accrue at a rate of 0.034 sick hours for each hour worked. Accrual hours are calculated as part of the payroll process and become available once payroll has processed the pay period.

  • Tracking "Hourly Sick Leave鈥 will be an option beginning Jan. 10 in MyLeave under appropriate circumstances after it is accrued.听
