Meeting with a faculty mentor

Students should prepare for a meeting with a faculty mentor by knowing their current schedule and their plans for the future. StudentsÌýshould visit faculty mentors during their office hours.

Initial assignments can be found in Buff Portal Advising, but students are welcome to meet with any EPEN faculty mentor. Students are encouraged to work with the same faculty mentor over the course of their academic career, when feasible.

Note: During the summer, faculty mentors do not hold weekly office hours. Please email your faculty mentor for assistance.

Associate Teaching Professor • Associate Chair - Engineering Physics • EPEN Faculty Mentor
Physics
Office Hours: Wednesday and Friday 12pm - 1pm or by appointment • ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· Buff Portal Advising for Zoom Link • Research Interests Dr. West's background is in computational quantum theory. He is interested in the interface between quantum systems and classical computing, including classical simulation of many-body quantum systems, classical computing in quantum cryptography, and quantum approaches to problems in classical computing and complexity theory. Most recently, he is investigating...
