Real-Time Polls

Polling apps such as Zoom, Mentimeter, and Polleverywhere all have various functions for engaging in real time polls with participants, with such a variety of polling options facilitators can decide which platform best fits their purpose. These online apps can usually be integrated into presentation software such as Google slides and Powerpoint and can be accessed within the presentation or by directing participants to a website with login code for each poll. Some software referenced in the tools below may require a paid license. Polling Apps: Most apps offer a variety of formats for asking questions and for sharing results. Typical questions include multiple choice, open-ended questions, ranking, and quizzes. Result formats include bar graphs, pie charts, and word clouds. 

  •  - Zoom offers single or multiple choice polls, with the option to make participants anonymous and provides a downloadable report of poll results during and after the meeting.
  • - Mentimeter offers live polls, Q&A, and open responses.
  •  - Polleverywhere offers all of these features, as well as additional creative opportunities like creating word clouds from responses.
  • - Slido offers open ended questions, star-ratings, live polling, and quizzes.
  • Kahoot!- Kahoot offers interactive quizzes, polls, and ranking options for assessing student learning and content related quizzes prepared by teachers and organizations.
