Leeds Master’s Degrees in Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management 10-Year Celebration
On April 10, 2025, members of the Leeds community, including faculty, alumni and current students, convened to commemorate a significant milestone: a decade of innovation, impact, and excellence in the Leeds Master’s in Supply Chain Management and Master’s in Business Analytics programs.

Tandean Rustandy Endowed Dean Vijay Khatri kicked off the celebration, acknowledging several Leeds faculty who have been instrumental in the program’s growth, including Gregg Macaluso, Dan Zhang, Gurumurthi Ravishankar and Rui Zhang.

Community Spirit
The event offered students a chance to unwind and connect. Attendees enjoyed refreshments, and each student received a power bank as a commemorative gift to mark the occasion.

David Dobolyi, assistant professor of Organizational Leadership and Information Analytics, shared two compelling projects—one using AI to assess online health content, and another exploring the influence of sponsored YouTube videos.

Volunteer Management in a Digital Age
Gloria Urrea, assistant professor of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Operations, spotlighted her award-winning research on virtual volunteer engagement, which earned the 2021 POMS HOCM Best Paper Award.

AI Transformation in Operations: A New Era of Innovation and Efficiency
Huanan Zhang, assistant professor of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Operations, delved into how AI is revolutionizing operations.

Career Advice and Insights
Colin Pistell (MBusAn’16, center), a senior software engineer at Google, reminded the audience during the alumni Q&A panel that while planning is essential, plans often fall apart.

Looking Ahead
Kersti Kammerer (MBusAn’23, left), a supply chain data scientist at Arrow Electronics, and Jordyn Gerstle-Goodman (MBusAn’22), a decision scientist at Walt Disney Company, urged thoughtful AI adoption. Both emphasized understanding when and where AI creates value, rather than adopting it blindly.
