Boulder-CU Leadership Program
What is the BCLP?
BCLP is a mentorship connection organized by the Center for Leadership in collaboration with the Downtown Boulder Partnership and the Boulder Chamber. The BCLP exists to connect CU students invested in their own leadership development with leaders in the local Boulder community.
The BCLP runs from October through April each academic year.
What should I expect from my time in the BCLP?
Our program will pair students with a mentor from the Boulder area. We consider both the mentor and mentee applications, their preferences, and our knowledge of their backgrounds to make the best match possible. Once paired, students will be responsible for reaching out to their mentor. Both parties will sign a BCLP Expectations Agreement to guide their mentorship. Mentees will also need to submit a mid-point reflection memo and participate in a final reflection and feedback discussion with their mentor.
The Chancellor believes that the BCLP is a great example of how the University community continues to connect with the greater Boulder community on a meaningful and transformational level.
Our BCLP mentors not only provide guidance on professional development and leadership, but they also bring a wealth of life experiences to learn from and grow. Our mentors take pleasure in working with our students and forming a connection while sharing their knowledge from their personal and professional lives.
Who is eligible to participate in the BCLP?
Any student at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· is welcome to apply. Students must be able to commit to a minimum of 14 hours with their mentor throughout the designated period of their mentorship agreement. BCLP is free for all participants.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please note the Mentor Criteria for Community and Business Leaders:
- Strong volunteer
- Passionate about the importance of strengthening tomorrow's leaders
- Available and flexible to engage in the program
- Relevant community and/or business leadership experience for the program
- Willing to commit to 14 hours of mentoring/discussion time with the students during the academic year
If you are interested in becoming a mentee, please note the Mentee Criteria for CU Leadership Students:
- Dedicated to professional growth and development
- Sign Expectations Agreement to indicate a commitment to the program
- Engage in mid-point and end-point check-ins
- Adhere to all requirements of the CU Honor Code
- Willing to commit to 14 hours of mentoring/discussion time with a mentor during the academic year
